Many investors are familiar with traditional Wall Street investment vehicles such as stocks and bonds. However, not many people are familiar with investing in alternative assets such as gold and silver. Precious metals like gold and silver have numerous benefits to investors, including portfolio diversification, wealth accumulation during bear markets, and hedging against inflation.
There’s a strong case to be made that gold should have a role in investment portfolios. And for some people it may make more sense to buy gold at a certain time than to buy stocks.
The answer to whether or not to buy stocks or gold is anything but straightforward, however. It will depend on your personal circumstances and your goals. Sometimes it might make more sense to buy stocks than precious metals, and other times it might be the reverse. But with an increasing number of people choosing precious metals for their portfolios, you may discover that buying precious metals may be the right choice for you.
